How do I get the maximum value of specific columns

Hello, I am currently working with data across five trials that provides me a frequency and a velocity at that frequency. I have a matrix that is 409x10 and I need to find the maximum value of only columns 2,4,6,8,and 10. Please let me know what advice you have!
