newbie in matlab simulink

hey, i am newbie in matlab simulink. so can anyone give a guideline to start with simulink modeling. can anyone suggest me any book or any link or any e-book or any video lectures or any way to proceed to become expert.

I list resources that I have found useful as a beginner here. Nothing beats having someone local (an older student, for example) who knows Simulink and has the patience for questions.
