Why do I get an error on fdesign.highpass

When i'm using fdesign.highpass I get the error '??? Undefined function or variable 'fdesign'.' Do I need the DSP System Toolbox installed in order to use fdesign? I use Matlab version R2010 on Windows 7.

If you are using R2010, I believe the licence you need is Filter Design Toolbox.

fdesign.highpass requires the DSP Toolbox be installed and licensed.

Yes, you can purchase the lastest version of MATLAB and the DSP Toolbox, after which you will be able to download the R2010 versions and use them.
Note: I have not been able to determine whether the Student licenses are able to download previous versions like this. I have seen contradictory answers about this.
