Matlab 2017b silent install opens GUI

4 views (last 30 days)
I am trying to deploy MATLAB 2017b for Linux using the silent install:
install -inputFile answerfile.txt
I have been using this method from 2012b to 2015b without trouble in the past.
  1. I extract and merge the content of the two DVDs, not forgetting the .dvd1 and .dvd2 files.
  2. We use a networked license (total headcount) so I provide a network.lic file with the correct settings for our license servers.
  3. I downloaded the FIK from the website and provided it to the answerfile.txt.
When I run "install -inputFile answerfile.txt", I still get the GUI launching. I have not much more information as the install log is not yet created and I cannot find anything in /var/log/messages.
This method used to work with previous versions (up to 2015b in my experience).
Is there any change that I would have missed, or can someone help me diagnose why the GUI would pop up while I selected silent mode. My guess is that the FIK is not the correct one, but I am not sure.
Kind regards,
Cyril

Brilliant, that was it. A bit surprised as I did not bump into this with previous versions (<2015aSP1). Thank you !
