Documentation of zoh vs linear interpolation

31 views (last 30 days)
I am using Simulink and its associated viewer. I am viewing continuous time signals. I think I know what is going on, but is there any documentation about the zoh vs linear interpolation?

I am not sure I understand exactly what you are asking, as the description is a little vague. I have included documentation below for the Zero-Order-Hold block and the Interpolate block that includes an Interpolation mode parameter with a linear option:
I hope this helps.

I am talking about the Simulation data Inspector. When you click on one of the traces in the properties window below, one of the properties is "interp method." Currently there are two choices: zoh and linear. I was asking about those.
It could very well be that the blocks are used to do the interpolation, in which case you have answered my question. 8^)
Also, while rooting around the docs I think I saw something about a user supplied interpolation method. How do you do that?

From Workspace (and possibly other blocks) need to know what to output in-between the times specified with the data. The two main possibilities are to keep using the same signal until the new time (zero-order hold), or to interpolate the signal linearly between the old value and the new value (linear)
