Can we insert new image(Small) ,at the centre of old background image on the same axis ,to get new image and background image at a time using matlab GUIDE ,please help me

I want to display a new image (SMALL IMAGE) at the centre of the background image ,keeping the background image fixed . Keeping background image fixed ,I want to display an image with a condition . so that ,whenever that condition is satisfied ,I should get new image at the centre of background image . please help me
