Matlab shortcut won't open

I recently downloaded R2017b and it worked fine for a few weeks. Yesterday, the desktop icon was changed to Windows 7 default image like when a file is corrupted, and when clicked it gives the error "Problem with Shortcut."
I uninstalled/reinstalled the program, and got the same thing. I need it for a class by today. What can I do?

Hi Canaan,
I don't know if you are still facing the issue, but you can go to the installation directory location C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2017b\bin and run matlab from there and see if that works. If it works this means the installation is correct then it is possible that your computer is infected by some malware.
Thanks, Sujit
