How can I move a double acting cylinder by force?

1 view (last 30 days)
Hello,
I want to build a simulation for an hydraulic transmission with pistons. In my first step I tried to move a double acting cylinder by an ideal force source. The cylinder connections will be connected to other cylinders later. My problem is I can't get the thing to move. The force is there, but the rod is not moving or moving at e-20 m/s. The force input switches between positive and negative values, so it should move in one direction at least.
Thank you in advance.

I believe it's because of the force sensor you have on top of the picture.
A force sensor needs to be placed in line with the action of the force (like an current meter). Having it in parallel, or on the side, allow the force to be applied back to the ground (mechanical reference), without acting on the cylinder. So, it won't move.
