Use Simulink Simscape Electronic components to model power system
Show older comments
Hi,
Since the Simscape Electronic and Simscape Power System (formerly, SimPower System) do NOT work together, I want to know what is the pros and cons of using Simscape Electronic toolbox to model the power system for steady state and transient simulation.
Thank you in advance.

Simscape Electronic and Simscape Power System merged in 2019 and formed Simscape Electrical. There are two technologies that are part of Simscape Electrical, Simscape and Specialized Power Systems. It is not a good practice to mix the two technologies because this can have a negative impact in how efficient the solver can simulate the model. There is similar functionality in the two technologies that should enable to use either one for power systems simulation. The choice will depend on the specific requirements.
