SimScape Initial Conditions' Convergence seems to depend on "wrong" blocks

Hello! I hope someone has a hint for me on this one or has experienced the same:
I have alot of times problems running my simulations, because of non-converging initial conditions. A very weird observation was, that sometimes elements that do not influence the system but just output data to scopes etc can make a difference. For example including a Saturation Block in a Calculation Block, that only outputs a value to a Scope but should have no effect on the system's behaviour whatsoever can cause that. Or once it was a gain block...replaced it with a multiplication by constant and it ran.
Is there any reasonable explaination? It is a bit frustrating to be testing all kinds of settings to make the simulation run and find out it was something that should not even effect it.
Greetings,
Simon
