Undefined variable "matlab"

Hi,
I recently installed MATLAB 2018b onto a new Windows 10 machine. Running an old .m file, I now see an error when calling the "errorbar" function:
"
Undefined variable "matlab" or class "matlab.graphics.chart.internal.checkpvpairs".
Error in errorbar>parseargs (line 255)
msg = matlab.graphics.chart.internal.checkpvpairs(pvpairs,linestyleerror);
Error in errorbar (line 61)
[pvpairs,args,nargs,msg,orientation] = parseargs(args);
"
I can't find a similar error occuring elsewhere online. Has anyone seen this error before?
Thanks,
David

To update on this problem, entering the command "restoredefaultpath" temporarily fixed the problem. Closing and reopening Matlab, the error returns.
Is there a problem with the directory of the default path?
savepath after restoredefaultpath
That seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks Walter!
I'm having the same problem, but restoring matlab path doesn't fix it.
@Walter Robersonshould I make a seperate issue?
Reinstall.

In cases where restoredefaultpath provides relief, then afterwards
savepath
or else go into pathtool and click on save
