Runtime Installer not working for R2018a Compiler

22 views (last 30 days)
I'm attempting to run the application compiler with the 'Runtime included in package' option. I realized that runtime wasn't installed, so I went to the following link:
And downloaded the correct version (R2018a). After installing I relaunched Matlab and tried the compiler again. When I tried to package it however, I received the error:
Valid MATLAB Runtime installer not found.
But under preferences, I wasn't sure what path to use. From this post:
The path for my Windows computer should be:
C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2018a\toolbox\compiler\deploy\win64
But I do not find the MCR executable in that folder; there was only a MATLABWebAppServerSetup.exe. When I try to use this .exe path I recieve an error that it is not a valid file for MATLAB Runtime installer. Is there another path I should use, or is this a different problem altogether? Thank you for your time.

I realized the problem was that the executable had to be moved to this folder rather than run on the device and expecting another one to appear in the folder. Sorry for my confusion!
