6 views (last 30 days)
When starting the update download, the download manager stops at 3% and shows this error message:
The following error was detected while downloading
examples/images_maci64_1534954113.enc:
Unexpected end of file from server.
I tried the download several times without success. What to do next?

I started the download with the "InstallForMacOSX.app" retrieved from Mathworks.

I think you should give writing permission to its directory. Firstly, you have to find where your matlab is located, so write "matlabroot" to matlab's command window.
mr = matlabroot
It will give you something like this: '/Applications/MATLAB_R2017b.app'
Then after that open Mac OS X Command Line and change your directory into that and give writing permission to it, simply write the commands below.
cd /Applications/MATLAB_R2017b.app
sudo chmod o+rwx .
It will give you writing permission to this file.

Unfortunately this was not the solution.
After giving writing permission to the Applications directory, I receive this message:
usage: chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-a | +a | =a [i][# [ n]]] mode|entry file ...
chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-E | -C | -N | -i | -I] file ...
Reinhards-iMac:MATLAB_R2018b.app rk$
But the error message remains and appears after 3% of the download.
