How to make a diamond with asterisks?

Hi can you help me doing this? So far I have this but I'm not sure what to do next or when to write the loops.
2(n-1)+1 %number of x
n=row
floor(col/2-(n-1)) %number of blanks
floor (row/2-(n-1))
