appending data to CSV file with write matrix since dlmwrite is not recommended?

With dlmwrite you can append data to an existing file. Does writematrix have that capability? or will it? (not listed in documentation for writematrix, but dlmwrite is flagged as not recommended)

No idea if writematrix will support it in the future (certainly that would be nice) but currently, no, you can't append to a file and you'll have to continue using dlmwrite.

writematrix is recommended over dlmwrite as it unifies writing to text and excel files. It focuses on the task (export data) rather than the file format. It's unlikely that support for dlmwrite (and xlswrite) is going to be dropped any time soon.
