Turn off Parentheses Autocomplete in App Designer

Is there a way to turn off the automatic tips that appear while typing (and the parenthesis autocomplete) in the App Designer text editor?

I definitely appreciate the improvements that have been made in App Designer since GUIDE, but I personally find the suggestions that appear while typing to be incredibly distracting; I haven't seen anything in the preferences tab that allows this feature to be disabled.

Yeah, the editor is my biggest gripe with App designer. I also haven't found options to have various settings, including auto completion as I want them and until it matches the main Matlab editor in that respect (and allowing all code to be editable) it is more of a toy to me, that I'll play around with to see what is new, than a serious tool that I would use to create a real GUI with.

I agree; I was surprised how different the two editors are, I had anticipated working in the default environment (similar to GUIDE). One thing I will say, though, I like the ability to edit names in the component browser and have the changes there propagate automatically to the text. But I definitely have mixed feelings about the greyed-out uneditable portions.

Probably they will refine it in a couple releases; it'd be nice if they unified the editing experience somewhat and added more control over the settings.

There is no such feature in MATLAB to turn off the auto completion(or auto suggestion) in code view of app designer as of now.

I just was going through the Preferences settings again, and I think I found it; Preferences > Editor/Debugger > Autocoding. If "Enable autocoding in Live Editor and App Designer" is switched off, the autocompletion of parenthesis, quotes, etc. is turned off.

I don't know how I missed this last time.
