How to simulate cables?

Hello, I need to simulate a small system consisting of an Ethernet cable, a data converter and a "regular power cable" (for the purpose of researching Power Line Communications). I'm mostly interested in the resulting data transfer rates and adding noise to those channels.
What toolboxes should I use?
I already tried Communications, Simscape Electrical and Signal Processing toolboxes, but none of those seem to have anything resembling a cable.
Is there a particular toolbox for such things? Or do I need to somehow construct my own model of the cable out of existing blocks?

The Ethernet component represents the communication network and the cabled connections of the computers to the network. Certain parameters can be configured like Length of the cables, Packet error rate and the Processing time. Refer to the documentation on Ethernet Hub for further information.
