STATCOM Build in SIMULINK

Good Day, I am attempting to build a three phase STATCOM, using components in MATLAB, However MATLAB offers two way to build it, either via the Capacitors and IGBTs from the Specialised power system toolbox or from the components in Simscape. Which one is more appropriate for this project?
I built it using the specialised power system tool box, because I was getting some difficulty with the simscape model to compile, but in the specialised power system model, it seems to be compiling very slow, even though I tried many different solvers.
I would like to know for my application, which components are the best to use, (SIMSCAPE or Specialised power system) and if the specialized power system components is more appropritate, what can I do to speed up the compiling, because at times it may not even finish, I would just have to stop it.
I have attached the SIMULINK file for your reference.
