M.file in matlab

i have R2015a matlab version . i tried to open .m files. Whenever I double-clicked them, they opened in new matlab windows. is there any setting that i can do to open the m.files that i want in the same window matlab without open new window matlab . thank you

Are you double clicking in the "Current Folder" display within the Matlab window or are you double clicking on the file in a normal windows File Explorer window?

i have one folder that has multiple m. file . Whenever I double-clicked in any of them (m.file) . it opened in new matlab window . i double clicking on file in a normal window file explorer window

To fix the issue of .m files opening in new MATLAB windows, try setting MATLAB as the default program for .m files on your computer and ensure it's correctly associated. If that doesn't work, consider resetting MATLAB's preferences or reinstalling MATLAB. Opening files from within MATLAB's own interface might also help.
