Hey all, the figure that I have is generated via geoshow, that look like this:
In order to cut the blank part between 40 to 45 (x-axis) I used:
axis equal
But after that, although small grid lines above x-axis values remain, for Y-axis they are all disappeared:
I found that this issue was acquired due to white background of the map. So if there is any idea how can I do to have small grid lines like x-axis for the y-axis without having blank space in figure I would be so grateful.

I could not recreate the problem. Try
box on
% or
box(axisHandle, 'on')

The map image appears to be on top of the axes and blocking the axis ticks. If you adjust the xlim so that there is some space around the edges, you'll the the y-ticks.
This line will add 2% of space to the left and right of the x limit.
% ax is the axis handle
xlim(ax, xlim(ax)+range(xlim(ax))*[-.02, .02])
Repeat for ylim if needed.
