Can matlab work with NVIDIA 2gb Graphics card?

I want to buy a laptop. I'm thinking 8 GB ram would be enough but I what I really want to know is, can matlab work with NVIDIA 2GB graphics card?.

It depends on what you're trying to do, but I would think you should be fine. I worked for years on a 8 GB RAM / 1 GB GPU machine, doing scientific computations and plotting (incl. heavier things like heatmaps). In general, my impression is that RAM is much more of a constraint for efficient MATLAB than GPU
