License Borrowing RWTH Aachen Mac OS X Slow Initializing
Show older comments
Hello everybody,
i'm using MATLAB for University (RWTH) and because I don't want to start up the VPN every time and use MATLAB offline, I borrowed the license for a few days.
But when MATLAB is starting, the initializing-process takes a long time (2 min) while WiFi is on. Without Wifi it starts up immediately.
I have googled the problem and found something about exactly the same: http://www.mathworks.de/support/solutions/en/data/1-2Z18MA/index.html?solution=1-2Z18MA
But even with this help, and a lot of tries, i couldn't get MATLAB starting up faster.
Can anybody help me and tell step by step what to do?
Thanks a lot.

Someone else reported the same thing against R2012a. See http://www.mathworks.co.uk/matlabcentral/answers/50660-why-is-r2012a-matlab-so-very-very-slow-at-starting-up

Perhaps an English answer would be better, because, as you say, this might concern a lot of users.
