GUI not opening with a low period timer

I am creating a GUI using MATLAB GUIDE and am having a trouble opening the GUI while running three timers. The timers update three things on the GUI and runs fine with a Period of over 1 or 2 seconds. However I am trying to have the timers have a period of 0.05 seconds. When I set the timers to have this period, the GUI does not open. From what I can see in the command window, the timers are still running but the GUI does not open. Is there any solution to this?
