Adding additional Information to a figure/plot

Hello,
im plotting some data right now and i want to add additional info to the plot, like mean value or variance(in some space on the figure). Is that possible? Thx for any help :)

Use text command

I think the best way is this
[x,y]=ginput % click on the location you want+ Return
text(x,y,'yourtext')

Hi, thank you for your advice :) Is there a way to make matlab automatically choose a proper position for the text? because doing it by hand appears to be a bit tough

You could get the x and y limits from your plot and then calculate a position for the text from that...
Or you could put it in the title!? Or the legend!?
