Dig folder, blob storage, cache

I run Matlab 2020b and it has started creating temporary folders in my working directory. This is very frustrating because I have to delete these by hand and it prevents Dropbox from syncing some folders. I have checked 'tempdir' and it points to the right folder in C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\
Does anyone know how to make Matlab use the correct location for the temporary folders?
Thanks
Joe

I've never seen that. When do these temporary folders appear in your Current Folder? I assume you're looking at the Current Folder panel in MATLAB and then at some point these folders just poof into existence.
  1. Do they appear only when MATLAB is first launched?
  2. Do they just randomly appear as MATLAB is sitting there idly doing nothing?
  3. Do they appear when you run some program of yours?
  4. Do they appear upon exiting MATLAB?
How often do they appear? Every time you run MATLAB? How many of them are there? One or two, or dozens of folders?
I have been trying today to reproduce this, but typically it did not happen all day.
Before, the folders appeared in my Current Folder. From memory, a "dig" folder was created when Matlab was launched and then a folder with name similar to
{1D0554CF-E47D-4B42-812E-27531C577960}
appeared every time I ran a Simulink model.
The only thing that has changed between yesterday and today is that I cleared my C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\ but it was only 100MB so that shouldn't have been the problem
If it happens again I will make a note of when exactly they appear

According to matlab support, this should be fixed in 2021a, and also in 2020b with update 6 (end of july). Apparently, there is no work arround so far.

Has anyone confirmed that 2020b Update 6 actually solved this? It is driving me crazy.
I'm on 2020b update 6 and it just started happening to me.
Yeah, Problem is still not fixed, at least not for me. Absolutely no idea what is going on here
Still occurring for me with 2020b update 6 as well. Can we get an update on this problem? It is a bit of a PITA.
I experience the same with R2020a update 1.
