How do I plot a date on a pcolor graph when the vector is in a different time scale?

I am trying to plot ADCP data using pcolor with interpolated shading. I want to add to this graph sunrise/set vector data which is in a different scale. The ADCP data was taken in 5 minute intervals and sunrise/set data is obviously about 12 hours apart. How can I mark this each sunrise or sunset point on my existing plot?
