Writing into excell spreadsheet using matlab

Hi,

Can anyone help me out by explaining how to write into a excel spreadsheet from MATLAB. I am aware that, I need to use xlswrite. However, when I try to write a string into one rectangular box of a sheet, the string is entered as each alphabet into each box. For eg:

If I want to enter 'Hello' into the box B2 of the sheet, I somehow get, 'H' in B2, 'e' in C2,'l' in D2, 'l' in E2 & 'o' in F2.

Can you tell me please as I can solve this problem.
