I've got an urgent enough problem I'm working on the 4th but can start matlab on any of the computers with a license and I can't access the license manager.
It's suspiciously like the Matlab license servers are down.
It takes access to a TMW-supplied/supported machine to access your uni's licenses? Isn't it far more likely it's the local network that's got a problem and you need to talk to your IT guys????
I've only ever had single-user copies so I've no real clue but it just doesn't sound right to me that TMW has anything to do with your problem.
I thought of that dpb but more than one machine at my home had this problem and a coworker has the same problem at his home. And remote login to the University shows the same problem.
I need to be clear we do not have a network license at the University (at least not yet) these are a group license that I assume are communicating somehow with Mathworks. The License Manager I'm referring to is the one on "my account" at mathworks.com.
We both access web resources on multiple ports with no problem during this outage.
Plus it fixed itself after a couple of hours last time.
So I'm at a loss, I can't see what kind of problem at my side let's me log into the Mathworks site but not get into the license manager for a few hours at a time.
Since I am the IT guy in this case I would love a suggestion on what to look for.
Well, apparently I'm flabbergasted -- looked at group license stuff on the TMW site and apparently it does work like that. I was totally unaware of that.
Looks like if it doesn't heal itself(+) you're probably dead in water until Monday.
Only other recourse I'd know would be to see if you can find any contact info and start pinging TMW employees and see if anybody is reading e-mail and can/will do something before normal business hours tomorrow.
(+) One figures that before was somebody intervening rather than just magic altho guess anything's possible.
Well, I guess get an early morning start for to contact TMW first thing -- I'd probably submit a formal support request tonight if it hasn't gotten well by your bedtime and that way it'll be there first thing...
Well this Charlie-Foxtrot is not a problem with the license server. Evidently our IT department and Mathworks decided that our Group License be folded into a a Campus wide TAH license on July 3rd.
