create quadratic distribution function

i would like to create a random number using a quadratic distribution.

i know my function, it's a simple case where the number is betwwen -400 to 400, and can't be zero. so f(x) = a*x^2 and a = 2.34375*10^(-3). How should i generate a number that will match this distribution?
