Image Dilation

I have a monar color (gray color) image (face Image)and i need to apply the dilation operation to the image. this image is 3D image and the dilation codes need to be used to shape the image. I tryed the codes in the Help but i couldnt able to understand it. pls give me some instruction about what type of coding i shoud used and how they can be used.
eg: image file is 'user-001-c.bmp'

Please explain what a 3D image is.

In here the 3D image is a face image which is a Disparity image
