Matlab crashes on startup

Hi,

I have been using Matlab on the same computer for the last couple of months and it has always worked fine. However, today I received this error while opening the program.

Has anyone any clue about what is going on?

Any changes since last time it was working? Updated matlab? Windows OS update? Installed a new plugin?

I often get a ton of java errors if I try to start MATLAB too soon, like while I can see my desktop but it's still loading all kinds of stuff in the background.

There were no changes both in Matlab and in Windows OS.

Since I found online that resetting the preferences was the solution for most of these problems, I did that and it worked.

Interesting. Generally resetting preferences is a good try after you upgrade matlab. Surprisingly it also worked for you.
