how to construct a 3 D image from a normal colored image?

Input is a colored image. what are the techniques can be followed to construct a colored 3D image?

A color image is a 3D image already. Do you mean a 4D image where you have a volumetric color image? So the array is array(x, y, z, colorBand)?
