Can I monitor the progress of a fitting?

Hi,

I'm using MATLAB R2016a. I'm trying to fit a computationally expensive function and I want to monitor either the fitting progress or how the parameters evolve in each iteration of the fitting.

Is there any (easy) way of doing this?

If you are going to employ nonlinear fit with lsqcurvefit or fminunc, you can obtain some data from each iteration, see the full doc here: https://www.mathworks.com/help/optim/ug/nonlinear-data-fitting-example.html
