I am a Mathematician and Engineer who is currently using the Personal Version of MATLAB, for the purposes of non-commercial research.

My private work involves attempting to model both shock-waves and pressure-waves in the brain, which often largely arise due to the effects of exploding devices and mental illnesses - such as epilepsy and schizophrenia.

I particularly require software that will deal with both the infinitesimally small and extremely large values that are inherent in many of my calculations and the graphical plots of these shock- and pressure-waves, their futuristic prediction, and any possible mitigation against such events and their negative neurological effects.

I am therefore hoping that my current MATLAB software, and any up-dates that I subsequently install, will satisfy my investigations with a view to publishing any reasonably good quality research that I ultimately produce.
