Smarter System Verification using Simulink and Simics

Scott Prochaska, Wind River
Tom Erkkinen, MathWorks
Graham Morphew, Wind River

Experience a smarter way to develop and verify complex systems using Simulink and Simics from MathWorks and Wind River, respectively.

With Simulink, engineers use Model-Based Design to design, simulate, and generate code for algorithms embedded in systems ranging from high-integrity aircraft flight controls to mass production automotive ECUs. With Simics, engineers use simulation to perform early integration and validation of the embedded software and system hardware/software architecture. Together, Simulink and Simics enable more iterative development that breaks the rules of conventional approaches and enables order of magnitude time, risk and cost savings versus traditional hand coding and late stage integration and testing.

Highlights of webinar include:

  • Simulink for Model-Based Design, featuring high integrity systems development, certification use cases, and latest technologies
  • Simics for early integration and validation, test automation and advanced software debugging tools including reverse execution
  • A demonstration of Processor-in-the-Loop (PIL) co-simulation integration between Simulink and Simics, featuring Power Architecture device with VxWorks

Please allow approximately 60 minutes to attend the presentation and Q&A session.

About the Presenters:

Tom Erkkinen is an embedded applications manager at MathWorks, working on automatic code generation and certification products. Prior to MathWorks, Tom worked at aerospace and automotive companies using modeling, simulation, and automatic code generation to develop space robotics and mass production control systems.

Graham Morphew is the senior director of product management for Wind River’s Simics simulation product line. Graham joined Wind River in 2008 and has over 19 years of experience with embedded software and tools.

Scott Prochaska is a Field Application Engineer with Wind River dedicated to the Simics product.  Scott has over 22 years of experience in embedded software development and in embedded tools sales and support.
