How can I fix Simscape Multibody solids getting stuck loading the preview?

When attempting to edit solid elements from simscape multibody the window opens however it appears to get stuck loading the solid preview. The window does not respond to mouse clicks although can be maximised which turns the window black. This also makes the main MATLAB window unuseable.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Simulink
2. Place a solid from Simscape->Multibody->Body Elements in library browser
3. Double click to edit solid

Could you please share system configuration you are using? Are you using Simulink on Server or Virtual Desktop Interface or Remote Desktop?

The file that defines the solid is either very complex (many surfaces, details) and creating a problem for your graphics card OR it may have an issue/inconsistency that prevents it from being visualized. If you can share it, we can take a look at it. You could try re-saving it to an STL file, which are generally easier to render.
