Why can't I type into any text fields, including the MATLAB login page, the Add-On Explorer, or the Installer on my Linux machine?
Why can I not proceed with my installation after choosing Advanced Options?
Why can't I click on a field to edit the text in the installer?

This issue may occur in releases starting from R2018a. Please see the following EBR for all updates on this issue: https://www.mathworks.com/support/bugreports/details/1797911.
The first workaround listed utilizes Linux's in-house settings. You can adjust the window focus mode by opening the 'Tweak Tool', selecting 'Windows', and then selecting 'Focus Mode'.
Alternatively, you can execute this command on any GNOME-based distribution like Ubuntu:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences focus-mode 'click'
When using an Ubuntu Mate desktop, you may be able to resolve the issue by going to Control Center>Look and Feel>Windows>Window Selection, then clicking "Select windows when the mouse moves over them".
If you are trying to install the Network License Manager for R2023b, you can also use the R2022a installer. It has the same version of the Network License Manager and may allow you to proceed in this installer.
If no other workarounds work, please try using MATLAB Package Manager to perform installation. A link to this can be found below.
