What is the difference between MATLAB Web App Server and Development Web App Server?

The development version of MATLAB Web App Server is included with MATLAB Compiler, and provides all basic features needed to host MATLAB web apps.

The standalone MATLAB Web App Server product requires a separate license and includes additional features not available in the development version, such as authentication and support for more concurrent user sessions.

Note that prior to R2020a, the development version of MATLAB Web App Server was called "Web App Server" without further specification. The distinction between versions started in R2020a when the product version of MATLAB Web App Server was released.
