How to model a Peaucellier Straight line mechanism on Simscape/Simulink?

8 views (last 30 days)
I wish to model a Peaucellier Straight line mechanism on simscape, but my mechanism doesnt seem to rotate and I am not able to diagnose the issue. Can someone either share their version of this mechanism/ guide me as to how I can build it?

Hi Sumedh,
Thanks for the great question - this is an interesting mechanism.
Attached to this answer is a model in Simscape Multibody.

Hello, sorry for the question years later hehe. But how would you modify the model so that you could apply a torque instead of motion at the input? I tried constraining the revolute joint angles to a maximum and a minimum but that didn't work. I'm trying to make it so that the simulation with a constant torque at the input stays at a certain stable point and the model maintains the geometry (even though that's not what would happen physically). Thank you.
