Why do I receive a warning when using FITSINFO?

When I call FITSINFO, I receive the warning:
Warning: Unable to determine format of the value. Will return
value as a string.
In fitsinfo>parsecard at 533
In fitsinfo>readheaderunit at 340
In fitsinfo at 221

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
There is a bug in MATLAB 7.0.1 (R14SP1) in the way that FITSINFO handles FITS-files created in IDL.
There are no workarounds.
