Why do I receive errors that "The specified module could not be found" when I deploy my MATLAB Compiler 4.1 (R14SP1) generated application to a system along with MCRInstaller.zip generated by BUILDMCR on MS Windows?

I have generated a COM object with MATLAB Compiler 4.1 (R14SP1) and deployed it to another system. To install the MCR on that system, I used BUILDMCR to generate MCRInstaller.zip. However, when I start my COM object, I receive an error such as:
The specified module could not be found.

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 2 (R14SP2). For previous releases, please read below for any possible workarounds:
There is a bug with MATLAB Compiler 4.1 (R14SP1) in the way that BUILDMCR generates MCRInstaller.zip. It is missing the file:
mclcommain71.dll
which should be in the directory
$MCR\v71\runtime\win32
where $MCR is the root directory of your MCR installation.
You can work around this error by installing the MCR with MCRInstaller.exe or by manually copying this file to the above location from your MATLAB installation in the directory:
$MATLAB\bin\win32
where $MATLAB is the root directory of your MATLAB installation as returned by executing
matlabroot
at the MATLAB Command Prompt.
