This is the solution I was looking for. I think it ends this "unintended" hacking series, :-(

Good work to improve the test suite. But I have to say it can be solved the proper way. Yes, it seems impossible but the third value of "x" is still, surprisingly, out there. What is @()1 used for?

The code is actually doing what it says it is doing, nothing fancy in there. But you are right, for the next one I will take the approach in [Alfnie1969]. Thanks!

That is true. But Cody is running on Unix. Anyhow, I have modified the test suite to be platform independent.

Just a little hint: I bet you can solve it in your own computer without changing the test suite.

Someone already solved it yesterday. If I tell you how to solve that obstacle, I would make it a lot easier.

It works for me. It may be a little tricky.

Thank you for your hints! I'll see what to add to "Now! (Anticheating version 2)", I would not like to block file i/o.

The metric used to evaluate the performance of a solution is http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/34754-calculate-size As you can see if you inspect the code, it has nothing to do with speed or memory. That is why I proposed this solution, in order to show that you can become the leader with a code that is not efficient at all, either in execution speed or in memory use. Although I think the idea of Cody is great and challenging I believe that the metric that is used nowadays should be rethought.

Congrats, you found a way... but not the one I was expecting. Someone called "game" is preventing you from passing the test suite. "game" is somehow stored in memory (see "inmem"). Try unloading it. Hope this helps

It is a MEX file function called by sortrows. Check it out in the sortrows source code.
